Zenkov Cathedral (Ascension Cathedral)

Constructed between 1904 and 1907, Zenkov Cathedral stands as one of the few buildings in Almaty to survive a 1911 earthquake. Its vibrant yellow exterior and rainbow-colored accents make it a distinctive sight in Panfilov Park. Made entirely of wood, each section interlocks ingeniously without nails or bolts.
