Panama Viejo, founded in 1519, is the site of the earliest European settlement on the Pacific coast of the Americas. Its iconic cathedral tower, constructed with bricks imported from Spain, stands amidst the ruins. Much of the city was burned during Henry Morgan's raid in 1671, leaving behind stories etched in stone.
