Best Things to Do in Victoria, Seychelles

About Victoria

Victoria, the capital of Seychelles, is a tiny city brimming with colonial charm and a relaxed atmosphere. Its size means you can walk from one side to the other in about twenty minutes, but the gardens and markets will likely distract you along the way. The British influence is visible in the architecture and the rather polite pace of life. The Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market is the must-visit spot for fresh produce and local crafts, drawing visitors who unexpectedly find themselves pondering whether they really need that handcrafted coconut sculpture. The coastal scenery and easy access to islands make it a popular base for exploring the surrounding beauty, though many just come to enjoy the tranquility and the occasional cup of tea.

Who it's for

Great for those looking to unwind and appreciate local culture without the intensity of larger tourist cities. Not ideal if you expect a nightlife or a fast-paced environment, as the slow rhythm may frustrate more energetic visitors. If you prefer high-energy destinations, this might feel like watching paint dry.
