About Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City, the capital of Utah, is a significant hub for both culture and business, bolstered by its proximity to outdoor adventures and the Great Salt Lake. The city was founded by Mormon settlers in the mid-nineteenth century, and their influence is evident in the architecture, particularly at the Salt Lake Temple and the iconic Tabernacle. Its layout features a grid pattern, making it easy to navigate and access various attractions. The Natural History Museum of Utah showcases the state's geological wonders, while the Gateway area offers shopping and entertainment. When residents aren't working or attending events, they flock to City Creek Canyon for a taste of nature right at the city's edge. Most visitors come for the well-preserved history and the chance to explore the nearby mountains and outdoor activities.

Who it's for

Great for outdoor enthusiasts and anyone interested in Mormon history, as well as families looking for cultural outings. Not suited for those expecting a nightlife or a huge variety of dining options. If you dislike the altitude or dry climate, you'll probably be uncomfortable.

Public transport: Good
