Africa
Somalia, on the Horn of Africa, boasts one of the longest coastlines on the continent and a rich seafaring culture stretching back millennia. The ancient city of Mogadishu, Laas Geel rock art, and the self-declared autonomous regions of Somaliland and Puntland offer surprisingly rich experiences for the most adventurous travellers. Somaliland in particular is increasingly accessible and genuinely welcoming.
